John Patrick


John’s background includes a unique blend of strategy, operations, software development, and visual effects. John focuses on strategic planning while managing the development and entitlement process.

Prior to founding Outward Development, John led Studio Strategy & Analysis for Animation, Post-Production, and Visual Effects at Netflix. In this role, John developed programmatic studio strategy and underwrote major supporting investments that included commercial facilities, acquisitions, and large-scale commercial agreements. Before Netflix, John was a Consultant at Bain & Company where he advised large industrial development and technology companies. John was previously a Python software developer at Sony Imageworks, a major visual effects company.

John received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He holds a degree in Finance with Honors from the University of Georgia and a Certificate in Visual Effects from the Gnomon School of Visual Effects.

John is an avid triathlete and 2-time 140.6-mile Ironman finisher.

Brittany Patrick


With her background in hotel acquisitions, land acquisitions, divestitures, development underwriting, and due diligence, Brittany focuses on development and acquisition feasibility and finance.

As the former VP of Acquisitions for T2 Hospitality, Brittany brings an in-depth knowledge of current market conditions to underwrite hotel investments in an ever-evolving economic climate. Brittany has underwritten over $4.5B in total hotel deal volume over her career, including ground-up development and existing hotel acquisitions across a broad spectrum of brands, classes, geographies, and scale. Prior to joining T2 Development, Brittany was a Financial Analyst on the underwriting team in the Hospitality Finance Group at Wells Fargo Bank.

Brittany received her B.S. from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University with a minor in Real Estate Finance.

Willis Cheng


With a blended background in hotel acquisitions, business development, investment sales, and operations, Willis primarily focuses on hotel operations and programming of Outward developments.

Currently a Senior VP of Acquisitions & Development for Remington Hotels, Willis is directly responsible for expanding the company’s managed portfolio through acquisitions, newbuilds, and management share shifts. In this role, he creates strategic hospitality partnership opportunities with real estate investment trusts, private equity, institutional-quality groups, and high-net-worth investors through equity investments, debt placement, and management. Willis previously served as a VP of Development with Evolution Hospitality, a VP of Investment Sales with Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels & Hospitality Group, and a Financial Analyst with Wells Fargo’s Hospitality Finance Group.

Willis received his B.S. in Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate and dual concentrations in Hospitality Development and Hospitality Design from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
